The Studio

Studio e4 is based in The Hague, The Netherlands, and was founded by Jef Ivor Adegeest. The practice provides full architectural, interior and furniture design services both locally and internationally.

Working closely with an established network of trade and contractors means we can realise projects great and small, taking our clients’ lifestyle needs into consideration. In addition, through collaboration with other designers and craftsmen, Studioe4 has been able to create and contribute to projects to establish an elevated and timeless architecture.

Jef Ivor Adegeest obtained his master’s degree in Architecture from the TU Delft in The Netherlands with international experience gained through assignments with One Architecture (Amsterdam), Koen van Velsen (Hilversum,) MoDA (Calgary, Canada) and AAArchitects (The Hague). 

He has been lead and project architect in designing developments ranging from large scale housing projects, multiple renovations and interiors of private homes to embassies and offices.

The work of Studio e4 can be described as minimalistic and is characterised by the sophisticated use of materials.

The essence of their work is to create a spatial quality that is both simplistic, in its form, and warm and authentic, in its experience. This approach explores the balance between light, material and space while considering the context, tradition and user.

For each project – architecture, interior or product design – the approach remains identical and with an emphasis on the attention to detail, craftsmanship, refinement and play of light all contributing to the physical experience. It is through intuition and experience that we have established a thoughful architecture that considers both its users and environment.

As an evolving architecture and design studio, Studio e4 has a diverse portfolio ranging in type and scale from new-build, restoration, renovation and transformation as a hot yoga studio in Amsterdam to interior design of offices, retail and residential projects as a boutique for a luxury streetwear brand in Warsaw and residential projects from a rooftop extension to a complete renovation.
