Residential Renovation , Bloemendaal

With the last renovation having taken place in the 1960s, the floorplan with its clearly partitioned rooms and low ceilings did not allow for a natural flow and light throughout the residence.

The renovation consisted of completely stripping the residence to its essential structure and removing key walls to create a more natural flow between the spaces and levels. The ceilings and spaces were restored to their original glory whilst simultaneously modernising the interior.

The reorganisation included creating a visual axis on the ground floor; connecting the main entrance to the garden, modernising the custom kitchen with a pantry with coffee corner, creating a luxurious primary bedroom with ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet and creating two additional bedrooms on the top floor with bathroom and walk-in closet.

The material palette of natural stone, hardwood floors and earth toned walls created a more harmonious space that seamlessly integrated with the garden and outdoor space.

The original garden, designed by Mien Ruys was also restored.

This project was realised in collaboration with Draw Architecten BV.
